Welcome to the website of PROC-ASD: PROmoting Coding careers for adults with ASD! An innovative project that involves 7 partners from 5 EU countries and aims at contributing to the employability of people with Autistic
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the ICT sector.
PROC-ASD is an Erasmus+ project, Cooperation partnerships in adult education (KA220-ADU), with a duration of 24 months, starting December 2025 until November 2027.
About
PROC-ASD is a collaborative Erasmus+ project involving 7 partners across 5 countries. Our mission is to bridge the gap for adults on the autism spectrum by aligning their unique talents with the needs of the modern ICT sector.
While over 7 million people in Europe are on the autism spectrum, fewer than 10% are currently employed. This represents a significant missed opportunity, both for neurodivergent individuals seeking meaningful careers and for a tech industry facing a massive talent shortage.
However, many adults with autism possess traits that are essential for success in ICT, including high attention to detail, methodical pattern recognition, and strong logical reasoning. Therefore, to turn these strengths into professional careers, PROC-ASD is implementing a two-way educational framework:
- For Learners: a specialized coding/ICT curriculum designed specifically for adult learners with autism to enhance their technical skills and employability.
- For Educators: an adult education curriculum and training framework for ICT educators, equipping them with the tools to adapt their teaching methods for neurodivergent students.
By fostering an inclusive learning environment and providing targeted vocational training, we aim to encourage the inclusion of individuals with autism in the labor market. Together, we are building a more diverse workforce and helping meet Europe’s growing demand for digital innovation.
Objectives
PROC-ASD’s objectives are:
Skill Development
O1:
To develop the skills of trainers and staff at ICT training providers (professionals, organizations, companies) on including persons with autism in coding/ICT training and courses.
Skill Development
O2:
To enhance the access of adults with autism to training/skill-building opportunities in ICT, linked to the priorities of strengthening the employability of people.

O3:
To increase the interest of organizations that support people with autism, of people with autism and of their families on the potential of skills building and pursuing a career in ICT.

O4:
To raise the awareness of employers and employers’ organizations on the benefits of employing persons with autism and how they can support their inclusion.
Project Results

Create guidelines for the design/adaptation of coding/ICT courses, encouraging the inclusion of persons with autism.

Create capacity building for ICT training providers.

Piloting of one coding/ICT course and one bootcamp for persons with autism by the trained provider(s).

People with Autistic Spectrum Disorder
PROC-ASD promotes the employability of people with autism(and their rights, as of all people with disabilities (PwDs) to fully participate in society on an equal basis with others, by facilitating the creation of dedicated pilot training programme for learners with autism.

ICT Adult Education Providers
PROC-ASD aims to develop the skills of ICT Adult Education Trainers providing training on coding/programming so that they can reach out and include people with autism in the training.

PROC-ASD seeks to reach out to NGOs, CSOs and all organisations working with people with autism on the potential of skills building and pursuing a career in ICT, and how to access training opportunities.

Dissemination and awareness activities are designed to reach ICT employers, employers’ organizations, and recruiters on the benefits of employing persons with autism and how they can support their inclusion.

The synergies created by the project as explained previously will also allow it to reach VET trainers during the implementation of the project activities, training and maximized vua the outreach efforts.
